Which financial professional do I need? This is a fairly common question. Financial counselors, financial coaches, financial therapists, and financial planners all serve you and your money. However, they serve from different lens. I will attempt to share differences and similarities between each of these professions in today's episode.

**Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC) offered through the Association for Financial Counseling and Planning Education (AFCPE). Certifying organization is National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCAA). **Financial Coach has many designations. One of them is Financial Fitness Coach (FFC) offered through Sage Financial Solutions. **Financial Planner has many designations. One of them, the gold standard, is Certified Financial Planner Professional (CFP) offered through Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards. **Financial Therapist has many designations. Typically a social worker (Licensed Master Social Worker, Certified Forensic Social Worker, etc.), psychologist, or therapist will train as a financial coach and/or financial counselor in order to serve clients' financial and emotional needs. There is also the Certified Financial Behavior Specialist (FBS) designation offered through the Financial Psychology Institute.
