CD 1730 With a Great Ending and not a Great Fall

Bro Jason:
*2 Thessalonians 2:3:
"Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
*Revelation 1:8: "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty."
The Bible, especially in the King James Version (KJV), provides several examples and warnings about individuals and even nations that started with promise but ultimately strayed and faced negative consequences. These narratives highlight the importance of perseverance in faith and obedience.
Here are some KJV scriptures and biblical examples that illustrate the theme of starting well but not ending well:
General Principles:
* Ecclesiastes 7:8: "Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit." (While not directly about a bad ending, it emphasizes the importance of the outcome over the initial state.)
* Proverbs 16:18: "Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall." (Often, a good beginning is ruined by pride or a change in heart.)
* Galatians 5:7: "Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?" (This speaks to those who once followed the right path but were diverted.)
* Luke 9:62: "And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God." (This emphasizes the need for continuous dedication and not turning back once committed.)
