Corey is a College basketball player originally from Buffalo, New York. He received a scholarship to Baylor University in Waco, Texas, but his freshman year was overshadowed by the murder of one of his teammates by another teammate. The following year, the NCAA imposed sanctions on the Baylor program, including a suspension of all games played that season. He felt helpless and hopeless and began to make reckless decisions, including skipping class and getting into fights. He eventually failed a drug test and was dismissed from the team.
After transferring to Canisius College in Buffalo, began to turn his life around. He met his wife and started to focus on his academics and basketball. He eventually became a star player for Canisius and was drafted by the Washington Wizards in the first round of the 2021 NBA Draft.
