Welcome back to Discover Fresh Perspectives! In this heartfelt episode, host David Gouthro sits down with multi-talented singer-songwriter Devon More. You may know Devon from her captivating performances at local markets and her unique stories—like meeting David while her dog was dressed as a lion for Halloween! But there’s so much more beneath the surface.

Devon opens up about her lifelong love of music, from her early days singing “Do the Froggy Dance” as a child, to a transformative journey through classical music, theatre, and ultimately songwriting. She shares the deeply personal story of recovering from a traumatic brain injury and how that experience changed her worldview, influencing her creative process and the way she sees the world. Devon also recounts her life-changing move from Kamloops, BC to the creative heart of Berlin, highlighting the healing power of art and culture.

Together, David and Devon explore the evolution of her songwriting, the courageous leap from private creations to public performance, and the thoughtful intention she puts into every lyric—especially for listeners of all ages. Whether you’re an aspiring artist, a music lover, or just curious about finding light through adversity, this conversation is packed with insight, honesty, and inspiration.

Devon's Brief Bio:

Devon More’s musical journey began at just six or seven years old, when she penned her first song—the lyrically intricate “Do the Froggy Dance.” Drawn to music early on, Devon chose the flute, partly due to its manageable size compared to other instruments!

Growing up, she devoted herself to classical music, envisioning a future as a contemporary classical flautist. Her early experiences in songwriting and classical training laid the foundation for her creative path ahead.
