In the wake of Pope Francis's passing, the Roman Catholic church has selected a new leader, Pope Leo XIV, a man from Chicago, the first American ever appointed to the papacy. The question now is: what does Pope Leo XIV believe? Who is he and what will be his impact and legacy? Since he is immediately a global leader, these questions are legitimate and worthwhile. Pope Francis largely positioned himself as a political liberal. Will Pope Leo do the same? While I am not Catholic, I follow all this with interest and wish the new Pope well, praying he will exalt the name of Jesus Christ over the Church, and preach the Gospel as the most transformative power on earth.
