The sons of Zadok were a priestly lineage descended from Zadok, the high priest who served under King David and Solomon. They held a dominant role in Israel’s priesthood for roughly 7-8 centuries, from the United Monarchy (10th century BCE) until the Hasmonean revolt (2nd century BCE).

The sons of Zadok were the primary priestly dynasty in Israel for most of its Temple history, symbolizing continuity, legitimacy, and divine covenant in the priesthood.
