Today's reading will cover Matthew Chapters 15:21-16:4 and Mark Chapters 7:24-8:12.

Today's reading will bring us an account of a woman who was not Jewish but knew that Jesus could heal her daughter. When Jesus told her that He was sent to the Israelite people and it was not right to throw their food to the dogs she replied that even dogs eat crumbs that fall from their master's tables. Jesus, impressed by her faith, granted her request and her daughter was healed. We will read about a man who could not hear or speak properly and Jesus opened his ears and mouth. When the people saw what Jesus did they praised God and said that Jesus did everything right. When the crowd of people had been with Jesus for three days and used up their food Jesus was concerned for them and did not want them to be too weak to travel due to hunger. His disciples, rather than remembering how God had provided food to more than 5,000 people just a short time ago asked where they would get enough food to feed the more than 4,000 men, women, and children who were present. Jesus responded by asking how much food there was on hand. Then, after blessing the seven loaves of bread and the few small fish, Jesus once again fed all the people to the point that they had plenty to eat and then the disciples gathered seven baskets of leftovers.

In our discussion for daily application we will talk about whether we, after seeing God take care of us over and over again, remember to bring our seemingly impossible-to-solve needs to Him or if we, like the disciples, ask where or how we are going to be able to solve seemingly impossible problems. Even if we have never experienced areas of intense need in our lives previously, we need to be able to remember the examples we are reading about in the Bible and be encouraged to come to God, asking Him to provide, heal, solve whatever is going on, then have faith that God has already answered our prayer and given us what we asked for, the way Jesus instructs us, because NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR GOD.
