Today we will read Acts Chapter 24 and 25:1-26.

In our reading today Paul will be put on trial in Caesarea, since he is a Roman citizen and has requested a court hearing in front of a Roman judge. Paul will face his accusers, the Jewish leaders, and be accused of many things that no one can prove to be true. Despite the lack of evidence against him, Paul remained under house arrest for more than two years.

In our discussion for daily application we will talk about how Paul is having to wait for God's timing to go to Rome, as Jesus told him he would do. How difficult it is to "wait quietly" for God's timing! Today I will share personal experience in my own life going on right now that is requiring me to wait (not so) patiently for God's timing. Today God was reminding me to Be still and know that He is God. Paul, too, would have had to be still and know God is God while he waiting for years to go to Rome, where Jesus told him he would go. During this time of waiting for Paul things could have been worse. He could have been in a jail cell. During our own times of waiting for God's timing we need to remember that things could be worse and we need to remember that in our own lives, just as with Paul's life, God is still in control.
