On this episode of the Cut to the Race Podcast, James hosts a debate with Abby and Sam as they try to solve the issue of sprint races.

The trio begin by listing the aspects of the current format of a sprint weekend including the extra fight for points among the drivers. However, they soon move on to discussing the issues with sprints.

The panel touch on the Sprint Saturday format being in the middle of the weekend and also, the issues with reduced practice time, which has resulted in the results of two races being decided after the chequered flag.

James, Abby and Sam then suggest their own solutions for sprint races. They debate having alternative tracks, one-shot Quali, and having the Sprint as a separate championship.

Do you agree with the panel’s suggestions? If not, do you have a solution of your own?
