That weekend, he was supposed to be in Tennessee to watch his son race. But by the next day, whispers were already circling about an abandoned mine near the Oceana area. His mother got the call while at work: Wes was missing. She grabbed her other son and rushed straight to that mine herself.
Wes was 38. Brown hair. Green eyes. 5’7”. 145 pounds. Last seen in Oceana, WV.
Yes, Wes struggled with addiction—just like so many in our region. But that’s never the full story. He was a father. A brother. A son. And above all else, he was loved.
His mother has spent years chasing every lead. Rumors of a setup. A debt. A cover-up. Grainy footage. Cold tips. Dead ends. But not a day has gone by where she’s stopped searching for her boy.
