In our podcast we had the privilege to interview Richard Thurs, he is a Buyer and DMM Lead line leader at Scheels Corporation. We started out talking with Richard just kind of trying to get to know him more and learning just more of a general background of him before we really got into more serious questions and started to pick his brain. We learned that Richard is a small town Wisconsin guy who is a big sports fan and is unfortunately a Packers fan, we had a couple of good laughs about that and some good natured jabs. He told us about his moving away from the small town life and getting off to college and the transition it was for him to make the jump to a college town. In the process of him moving we learned how him being at college is what got his career going for Scheels as at the start he was just a college kid trying to make some extra money but then started to really enjoy his time with the company and decided to switch career paths. We got to learn a lot about the process of climbing the corporate latter and now about what he has to go through on a daily bases and what can come along with it between the good and the bad. We feel the best take away from our interview with him is just to keep going, keep trying stick to what you really want to do and don’t be afraid to really put yourself out there, you can never have too many connections.
