Wall Street notched record highs after cooler-than-expected US inflation data, with the Dow closing above 47,000 points for the first time. European markets followed suit, also finishing at record levels. Bonds, however, erased their post-CPI gains. Looking ahead, a busy week awaits with a Federal Reserve meeting and mega-cap earnings in focus. In commodities, oil steadied as traders weighed sanctions, while gold ended its nine-week winning streak. Back home, Aussie shares are expected to rise on rate-cut bets in what’s shaping up to be a pivotal week for markets, while the Aussie dollar lifted following the softer US inflation print.
