Those bathing in Clare's waterways amid the hot spell are being urged to float to live if they get into difficulty. With temperatures expected to exceed 27 degrees here today and tomorrow, large crowds are expected to flock to beaches, lakes and piers. The RNLI is urging the public to only swim at lifeguarded areas , to stay hydrated, be aware of local risks and for adults to always supervise children in the water. Kilrush RNLI Helmsman Charlie Glynn says even basic measures can save lives.
