Two local paddlers, living in County Clare, have achieved an extraordinary feat on the international stage. Paul Austin, from O’Briensbridge, and Killaloe man Barry Walsh, representing Shannon Paddlers Kayaking Club, successfully completed the Devizes to Westminster International Canoe Race over the Easter weekend. The 125-mile endurance race is widely regarded as the toughest non-stop kayak/canoe event in the world.
