November 13th — a date that has seen Formula 1 at its most dramatic and divisive.

In this episode of Chequered Past, we revisit the 1994 Australian Grand Prix in Adelaide, where Michael Schumacher and Damon Hill’s infamous collision decided one of the most controversial championships in F1 history. It was a day that crowned a new World Champion, secured Williams the Constructors’ title, and left the paddock forever debating intent versus accident.

We also celebrate the birthday of Lando Norris, exploring his journey from karting prodigy to McLaren leader — part of the “Twitch Quartet” that redefined how a new generation connects with Formula 1, and a driver who helped deliver the team’s first Constructor's Championship of the 21st Century.

Finally, we head to Interlagos for two Brazilian classics — the 2016 rain-soaked epic that made Max Verstappen a star, and the 2022 race that gave George Russell his maiden win and Mercedes their moment of redemption.

From collisions and controversies to comebacks and new champions, this is the story of November 13th — from racing’s rich and chequered past.
