Learning Series: Rev. Dr. Jonathan Brooks

Rev. Dr. Jonathan Brooks is the lead pastor at Lawndale Christian Community Church located on the west-side of Chicago. He is affectionately known as "Pastah J". He is also the author of the popular book "Church Forsaken". He is a graduate of Northern Theological Seminary (MDiv) and recently obtained his Doctorate of Ministry in Christian Community Development. (PhD).

Rev. Dr. Jonathan Brooks presented this powerful workshop at the past 2024 CCHF Conference. He will challenge you to rediscover that loving our neighbors means loving our neighborhoods. Unpacking the themes of Jeremiah 29, Brooks shows how Christians can be fully present in local communities, building homes and planting gardens for the common good. His holistic vision and practical work offers good news for forgotten people and places. Community stakeholders and civic leaders will rediscover that faith institutions are viable partners in community transformation in ways that they may never have considered.
