August 21nd: Power of Encouraging Words | Kids Devotional Carpooling with Jesus

Hey Carpool Crew! 🚗 Whether you’re munching on a breakfast bar or packing up your pencil case before school, I’m Pastor Justin — and I’m so glad you’re here.
Have you ever had someone say something so nice that it completely made your day? Or the opposite — someone said something mean, and it stuck with you all day long? That’s because words are powerful. They can build someone up like a tower or knock them down like a stack of blocks.
Our verse today is from Proverbs 16:24 (CSB):
👉 “Pleasant words are a honeycomb: sweet to the taste and health to the body.”
Back in Bible times, honey was sweet, valuable, and even used as medicine. King Solomon compared kind words to honey because your words can heal, encourage, and give life. And the same is true today — in classrooms, sports teams, group chats, and even at home.

Practical ways to use your words to lift people up:
Speak encouragement — “Great job!” “I’m proud of you.”

Before you speak, pause and ask: Will this build someone up or tear them down? Choosing kind words doesn’t mean you’ll get it perfect every time — none of us do. But Jesus is full of grace and will help you start fresh again.
