Scott Earl, president and CEO of Mountain West Credit Union Association, and Tara Trujillo, communications director for U.S. Senator Mark Udall (D-Colo.), are guests on this week's Business Unconventional.

Earl and Trujillo discuss Senator Udall's proposal, dubbed the Small Business Lending Enhancement Act, which would allow credit unions to compete more directly with banks in lending money to creditworthy small businesses.

Business that wish to support the legislation are encouraged to sign a petition available on Senator Udall's web site at: www.markudall.senate.gov/smallbizjobs. A column about the proposal written by co-host Dean Rotbart is available from Examiner.com here.

Rotbart and co-host David Biondo express different opinions on the pending legislation. This is part one of a two-part interview.

B. Unconventional airs each Sunday morning at 8 a.m. (MDT). The program is also streamed over the Internet at www.710KNUS.com.

Original air date: April 1, 2012 Photo: Scott Earl and Tara Trujillo
