Tassel wrap was a problem experienced in many Midwest cornfields this season. Corn tassels became tightly wrapped within the plant’s upper leaves, interfering with pollination and potentially reducing yield. In this episode of Managing for Profit, Jeff Sernett, agronomy solutions lead with Bayer Crop Science and an experienced corn breeder, says preventing the problem must begin in the corn breeding process.
