Your Creative Sparks:

  • Contemplating DEATH can help you appreciate LIFE - and prioritize how you focus your time and ATTENTION.
  • We all want to be WITNESSED at our true ESSENCE, which is something akin to LOVE.
  • EVERYONE who comes in CONTACT with you takes SOMETHING away from it.

They say “wherever you go, there you are” - but is that really true? How often are we actually *fully present* in the time and space we are in? A poignant popup from Where’s Waldo sets the stage for deep discussion on the value of being present in our daily lives. As JayMee trims the follicles of our Lobsterbird, they deconstruct time and space and the story of social justice, inquiring into how to help and what kind of help is really effective. Leave us a Rating & Review!

Your Travelogue

  • If the name of the game is presence, we could just sit here and be *present*. Why do anything at all? [7:47]
  • JayMee’s bizarre productivity hack: There’s nothing like a near-death scare to make you think about the bigger picture, give you energy, and spur you to action. Will you be happy with the way you have lived and what you have left behind? [13:33]
  • Being present allows JayMee to catch special moments and be deeply touched by them. A family playing becomes a beautiful thing, and seeing kindness exchanged becomes a tearful moment. [19:49]
  • JayMee wanted to be a force for change in the world, and she would fire off ideas then attack her list of things to get done to create the change she wanted to see. But her physical body couldn’t keep up with her emotional drive toward social justice. She needed to learn to relax into the process and be fully present in the journey. [22:55]
  • “Maybe it’s more about helping one or two people instead of saving the world.” [26:45]
  • The Butterfly Effect in action: You are often completely unaware of how your passionate presence alone can be inspiring others toward radical action, even if you feel like your efforts are weak and ineffective. [32:45]
  • How do you measure success? Can you ever be satisfied with what you accomplish? Maybe success is more about being fully present in ALL of life, not just when it’s good; being willing to explore the depths of it, and learn from it. [40:00]
  • Choose your tribe wisely - the people who will know you and understand you - without giving up on the ones who don’t. [42:42]
