We interview Christopher D.E. Willoughby is a historian of slavery and medicine in the United States and a Visiting Assistant Professor of the History of Medicine and Health at Pitzer College in Claremont, California. He is the author of the book Masters of Health: Racial Science and Slavery in U.S. Medical Schools, which will be published this November by the University of North Carolina Press (https://uncpress.org/book/9781469672120/masters-of-health/), and with Sean Morey Smith, he edited the book Medicine and Healing in the Age of Slavery. He has also written several popular articles for The Washington Post, AL.com, and Black Perspectives.
