A spotlight on the Scripture, Amos 6:1 Woe to those who are at ease in Zion, and to those who feel secure on the mountain of Samaria, the notable men of the first of the nations, to whom the house of Israel comes! “Woe” means”—it means to stop, look, and listen because this is important.

Woe to them that are at ease in Zion. The people in the text felt secure for the wrong reasons.

So many were found perverting the doctrines of the Gospel, feeling safe in their misunderstanding.

Listen, so many people misunderstand the Gospel and use their unwillingness to accept Christ as an excuse for their disobedience. They blame God for their lack of faith instead of their hearts and their love of sin. Others think their good behavior will save them, replacing faith in Christ with honesty and kindness. Many people are too focused on their pleasure and ignore others' suffering, which will lead to severe punishment. Choosing joy when God calls for mourning is seen as a serious sin with grave consequences."Woe”
