In her interview with The Times, Denise George portrayed herself as the lone crusader working for the people of the U.S. Virgin Islands who would not be intimidated by the legacy of Jeffrey Epstein. She described the private island known as “Hell Island” and the systemic abuse of young women that took place there, and explained how her office pursued justice for the victims even while facing massive political and financial pressure.
In her Bloomberg interview, George reflected on her aggressive legal strategy, including suing JPMorgan Chase & Co. for allegedly enabling Epstein’s trafficking network, and how her termination as Attorney General followed soon after. She discussed the settlement reached by the Virgin Islands in connection with Epstein’s estate, stressed the importance of holding financial institutions accountable, and made clear that her firing was closely tied to the high-stakes legal battles she waged.
