Jim Bacarro and Saab Magalona started one of the first local podcasts back in 2018. From debates about trashy reality shows to talking about the importance of voter registration, they have cultivated quite an engaged community who have dubbed them their /podparents/. Accidental Business Owners features our business and mindset coach Di Foster and she is teaming up with our mate Sophie for an epic cause.
Two years ago, Sophie's mum was diagnosed with breast cancer – and while she watched her mum at her worst as she went through surgery, chemo and radiation – she also saw her dad quietly fall apart. He didn’t know how to process his emotions or who to turn to.
It made Sophie wonder - if nine Kiwi women are diagnosed with breast cancer every single day, why aren’t we having more conversations that include the men in their lives?
So she did something about it – and created an epic event in Christchurch that brings it all together - the Tits and Tees Tournament. It involves 18 holes of golf, beers and lunch. Last year she raised $45,000 for the Beast Cancer Foundation, and this year the goal is 50k!
We think it's a brilliant concept and Sophie is a legend that needs your support...
