Why is it absolutely essential for leaders to set good boundaries, and how can it feel so uncomfortable and empowering all at the same time?

Have you ever noticed how easy it is to give and give—at home, at work, in your community, until one day you look up and realize you’re running on empty? It’s stunning how quickly we, as leaders, can lose ourselves in the drive to support everyone else. That tension, that exhaustion, that “I can’t do this anymore” moment, is so real. And yet, it’s also a powerful wake-up call that something has to shift, not just for our teams, but for ourselves first.

This episode of Being at Work is for every leader who has ever wrestled with the pressure to do it all and wondered if they’re allowed to step back and prioritize their own needs. Together with the wise and grounded Kathy Love, a self-care coach who has lived this journey, we’re digging deep into boundaries at work: what they truly are, how to set (and keep) them, and most importantly, how embracing boundaries leads to clarity and a more sustainable, authentic version of leadership.

Kathy challenges the subtle, codependent habits that sneak into leadership, like taking things personally when someone leaves the team or feeling like you can't say “no” to your boss. She's going to walk us through the real-life impact of those patterns and how setting boundaries around time, energy, and money can help us regain clarity and confidence.
