Some habits feel impossible to break - but what if grace was the real starting point for lasting change?

#BattleDrillDevotional #HabitsOfGrace #FaithThatChanges #ChristianDevotional #SalvationArmyDevotional

Welcome to the Battle Drill Devotional, where today’s episode tackles one of the hardest battles we face: the strongholds that won’t seem to shift. Drawing from 1 Timothy 4:15 and 2 Samuel 5:10 (NLT), we explore the reality that true transformation isn’t a one-time miracle - it’s a daily walk of obedience and humility. When you’ve tried and failed, when the old patterns creep back in, it’s easy to feel stuck or ashamed. But God’s grace doesn’t ask for perfection - it asks for persistence.

Through the example of King David - who faced lust, pride, and disobedience - we’re reminded that even when we fall, we can return. David grew “more and more powerful because the Lord God of Heaven’s Armies was with him” (2 Samuel 5:10 NLT). Why? Because he kept showing up. Again and again. Not with polish, but with repentance.

In this episode, we invite you to consider: What one habit is God inviting you to practise today? What might shift if you embraced honesty, humility, and just one small act of obedience? In The Salvation Army, we see lives transformed not by instant deliverance, but by grace and steady faithfulness - through recovery programmes, discipleship, and simple daily devotion.

You don’t need to have everything sorted. You just need to begin. Listen now, and be reminded: habits may be stubborn, but grace is stronger.

📖 Scripture:

1 Timothy 4:15, 2 Samuel 5:10 (NLT)
