Shang reached the ability to be work optional at the age of 31 through frugal living and investing in the stock market. These days, she educates thousands of Americans via Save My Cents to learn how to save and invest so that they can retire with dignity, while also making sure that mental health is built into the conversation about money. In particular, Shang has a passion for encouraging women to break free of the historical narrative around money and see themselves as genuine investors with the capability to change their money future. Shang holds degrees from Harvard and University of Chicago, and is currently a working mom living in New York City with her husband, son, a son on the way, and two boy cats. On this week's episode we hear all about Shang's personal financial journey, talk through the relationship between mental health and financial wealth, and discuss ways to build healthy financial habits and prepare for the future.
