In a society that is marred with social unrest coupled with a pandemic, it’s easy to lose hope and feel like you can do nothing. As part of Hannah and Bianca’s commitment to bringing new voices to the table, we invited Shane Lloyd, who is currently a diversity and inclusion consultant for Cook Ross. Prior to working in diversity and inclusion in corporate America, Shane worked predominantly with students of color at Brown University and Yale University. This episode is particularly poignant as Shane takes us on a journey of discovery and authenticity as we discover new ways to thrive as our full selves in predominantly white spaces. If you have questions or thoughts concerning the formation of identity, how to dismantle the heavily ingrained systems of oppresion in higher education and corporate America, this episode is for you. We suggest a pen and paper be at your disposal, as well as a cup of tea and a snack. Gems are dropped in this episode and we can wait for you to learn the importance of taxes, sweet potatoes and treating the professional world as a dating relationship.
