HOUR 2 - We should be celebrating Yaron Brook compares technology from 1990 to today and is exuberant about how much better life is now. Computing and medical advances have completely changed our lives for the better, he argues. He says we should learn the cause of the good and fight for it so that the future is better than the present.
Failure results when reason is absent - Yaron Brook explores improvements in the human condition since the Industrial Revolution. He then asks everyone to examine times they have been unsuccessful, and points to emotional responses as the path to sustained failure. Reason is, therefore, the route to happiness.
HOUR 3 - Middle aged white people are dying earlier - Yaron Brook, filling in for Mike Opelka, addresses the one thing that does not seem to be improving in this world of freer markets and technology: white middle aged American life expectancy. He talks about what is to blame for this alarming statistic, and how to overcome it. Hint: government is not the solution.
