This is Ken Ham, author of the book on millions of years and church compromise In Six Days.

In an attempt to squeeze millions of years into Scripture, many Christians believe Noah’s flood was just a small, local event. You see, if the flood really was global then all the rock layers and fossils didn’t take millions of years to form and are only a few thousand years old. So to accept millions of years, you have to reinterpret the flood.

But in both the Old and New Testaments we read that only the eight people on the ark survived. If the flood was local, people outside the area would’ve been fine. A local flood completely contradicts Scripture. The Bible is very clear—the flood of Noah’s day was a global event.
