Gary Chan

Security Mentalist: From hacking minds to hacking systems, Gary S. Chan entertains by revealing how hidden influence shapes behavior and impacts security.

I bring energy and keep conversations flowing, ensuring audiences stay engaged from start to finish. I’m a skilled storyteller with real-world stories that make complex cybersecurity topics captivating and relatable. As an expert with deep technical knowledge and leadership experience, I offer credibility and valuable insights listeners can trust.

I’m a security mentalist who uses game theory and math to predict and influence human behavior. My unique approach blends cybersecurity with the magic of mentalism, helping audiences worldwide become more aware of how criminals exploit predictable human behavior. Trained in behavioral profiling, conflict management, negotiation, interrogation, and mediation, I currently serve as System VP and Chief Information Security Officer at a large U.S. healthcare system.

In the past, I architected antifraud systems for state agencies, led security teams for a large-cap tech company, and mentored cybersecurity startups for a venture capital fund. I also served as President of the FBI St. Louis Citizens Academy Alumni Association and Technology Officer for the Greater St. Louis Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. I hold four security certifications and a degree in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science from MIT.
