#027: This week on A Novel Bunch, we’re back with A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas, covering Chapters 14–26 — and the Inner Circle is officially back in Velaris, baby. Feyre and Rhysand have reunited, the Court of Dreams is reassembling, and things are about to get messy.
*SPOILERS AHEAD* Feyre’s home, Lucien’s defected, and Rhysand is back to being the most romantic High Lord alive. The Spring Court’s in shambles, Nesta’s radiating death-goddess energy, and Elain’s whispering riddles about firebirds while Lucien quietly breaks our hearts.
Amren’s decoding the Book of Breathings, Cassian’s flirting through training, and Nesta’s serving “don’t talk to me” realness. Sparks fly — literal and otherwise — while Rhys and Feyre remind us what true equals look like.
Then strategy takes over. Feyre learns to fly with Azriel (swoon), we visit the library where priestess Clotho embodies survival and healing, and Feyre and Rhys share one of their rawest moments yet: some wounds only heal through love.
Enter the Bone Carver. In the Prison, Feyre faces the eerie being who takes the form of her and Rhysand’s future son (WHAT!?). His price? A mirror called the Ouroboros, hidden deep in the Court of Nightmares.
From there, the emotional hits keep coming — Elain’s visions grow stranger, Nesta shakes even Amren, and the Hewn City trip explodes when Feyre takes Rhys’s throne and Mor’s past with Eris surfaces. Cracks form in the Inner Circle, Keir proves himself vile as ever, and one haunting question remains for Nesta: “What are you?”
Let's get into it, Bunchies!
