A very special visit from visual artist Terry Winters, a painter who grew up in Brooklyn, NY. Over decades, Terry has exhibited widely, an essential voice in contemporary art, examining relationships between modernist abstraction, information systems and the architecture of the natural world. Terry is also an astute music lover who attended shows at some of NYC’s most seminal venues. Dave and Terry talk about his approach to painting and process, and how connections to music have informed his work. About where music and visual art mingle and where they deviate. They also talk about their collaboration with choreographer Trisha Brown on El Trilogy, which is sampled in the episode. Go to terrywinters.org to get a full view of his current exhibitions. Thanks for listening.
