This excerpt of my interview with Darrell Barnes provides insight into the recent murder of Tyre Nichols at the hands of police. Perhaps we need to change the language. Excessive force is being roughed up. Why isn't killing of a man while detained, without trial or sentencing, still considered a lynching?

Every 365 Brothers interview includes stories of the variety of experiences Black men have with police. While there are definitely tales of the full range of experiences with law enforcement--positive, negative, funny and otherwise--the pervasiveness of the harms that come with structural bias, racial profiling and excessive force prevail.
