Welcome to this tranquil episode of the Sleepy Scriptures One-Year Bible, where I read from the King James Version of the Holy Bible accompanied by peaceful background music to help you unwind, reflect, and rest in God’s Word.
Tonight, we continue our journey through the Book of Exodus, reading chapters 7 through 14 — a dramatic and awe-inspiring portion of Scripture that recounts God’s mighty hand at work in freeing His people from Egypt.
These chapters tell of Moses and Aaron standing before Pharaoh, of miraculous signs and devastating plagues, and finally, of the great deliverance at the Red Sea. Through every trial, God reveals His sovereignty, His patience, and His faithfulness to His promises.
As you listen, let the rhythm of these sacred words remind you that even in times of trial and uncertainty, the Lord goes before His people. Just as He parted the waters for Israel, so too does He make a way for us through life’s deepest challenges.
📖 Highlighted Verses

  • Exodus 7:5 — “And the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord, when I stretch forth mine hand upon Egypt.”
  • Exodus 9:16 — “And in very deed for this cause have I raised thee up, for to shew in thee my power.”
  • Exodus 12:13 — “When I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you.”
  • Exodus 13:21 — “And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, and by night in a pillar of fire.”
  • Exodus 14:14 — “The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.”
  • Exodus 14:31 — “And Israel saw that great work which the Lord did upon the Egyptians: and the people feared the Lord, and believed the Lord.”

Rest tonight knowing that the same God who delivered Israel delivers us — not by might or power, but by His Spirit and enduring love.
