I AM ABLE Disability Job Fair

PRIDE Industries will host its third annual I AM ABLE Disability Job Fair Oct. 14 at the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center in downtown Sacramento. The free event will include American Sign Language interpreters on-site and Braille signage. It will also offer resume critiques and help with interviews for job seekers. Darelyn Pazdel is the Vice President of Workforce Inclusion at PRIDE Industries and Trace Martin works as her executive assistant. They join us, along with interpreter Jennifer Weiler, to talk about the significance of events like this for people with disabilities.

Dennis Manger’s 85th Birthday Benefit

One of Sacramento’s biggest boosters is turning 85 and the community is invited to celebrate him. The Dennis Mangers 85th Birthday Benefit Concert is tonight at The Sofia Performing Arts Center in Sacramento. Proceeds from the concert will support The Dennis Mangers Fund for Young Performing Artists, which aims to help promising, young performing artists in El Dorado, Placer, Sacramento, and Yolo counties. We’re going to learn more about the fund and who it supports from Dennis Mangers, along with singer and actress Bella Coppola and Jacob Gutierrez Montoya, Director of Development and Community Partnerships at The Sofia.
