Transport Engineer David Hayward weighed in on the push to bring back and expand T2 multi-person vehicle lanes in Brisbane, admitting they sound good "in theory" but face major "risks and challenges" in practice.

He explained that removing general-purpose lanes only works if there's a strong adoption of carpooling, but suggested that new technology and the 2032 Olympics may force the government to revisit this controversial congestion strategy.
