Legendary Canucks voice Jim Robson joins John Shannon and Landon Ferraro to look back on a remarkable broadcasting career that made him “The Voice of the Canucks” for nearly three decades. Robson, who began calling NHL action in Vancouver's first game in 1970 and continued until his retirement in 1999, shares some of his most memorable moments and reflects on how the game—and his role in it—evolved over time. He produced more than 2,000 NHL broadcasts across radio and TV, and called four Stanley Cup Finals (1975, 1980, 1982, 1983) and multiple All-Star games, earning him a place in the Canadian Broadcast Hall of Fame, the BC Hockey Hall of Fame, and a 1992 Foster Hewitt Memorial Award recipient. From his signature greeting to hospital patients and shut-ins, to iconic playoff calls like “He will play… on crutches,” Robson’s stories reveal the heart and soul behind the microphone. It’s a rare and heartfelt deep dive into one of hockey’s most enduring voices.
