Jack, a weary long-haul traveler, stops at a desolate rest area along a lonely highway to stretch his legs and grab a brief respite from his long journey. While at the rest stop, he notices a mysterious, shadowy figure lingering near a dilapidated, mud-spattered pickup truck parked at the far end of the lot. Despite an initial surge of unease, Jack dismisses the sight as nothing more than another traveler taking a break. However, upon leaving the facility, he is unnerved to discover that the same pickup truck is now following his sedan persistently. No matter which route or speed Jack chooses, the vehicle matches his every move, its headlights a constant, ominous presence in his rearview mirror.
As panic sets in, Jack desperately searches for a safe haven, uncertain of the nearest police station or any sign of civilization. Just when the situation seems most dire, he spots a police cruiser parked on the roadside. Seizing the opportunity, Jack speeds past the cruiser, prompting the suspicious driver in the pickup to swerve off the road and vanish into the night.
