Dr. Amy Fielder is a cutting-edge cardiothoracic surgeon who represents change in the field of transplantation. She joins us in the studio alongside our hosts, Michael Tajima and Mary Jacoski, to discuss the rapid shifts in cardiac care and the power of the individual. From increasing ischemic times and geographic distances, to fostering a diverse community of growing respect and education, Dr. Fielder makes every effort to save lives.
Dr. Fiedler is also a proud supporter of Team Heart, an organization dedicated to helping all people in need of cardiac care in Rwanda. Team Heart’s dedicated and expert caregivers have saved many who are gravely ill and need surgical intervention. Without sufficient medical staffing, without preventative education and medication, without the appropriate health care facilities, the struggle is ongoing.
