Swallow-wart (aka dog-strangling-vine) is a nonnative creeping vine-like plant that is native to the Mediterranean and has become harmful to ecosystems and livestock health in New York State. CCE Educators Sharon Bachman and Laura Bailey are partnering with Carrie Brown-Lima, director of the New York Invasive Species Research Institute, to control the invasive plant using biocontrol measures. In this episode, Paul and Katie talk with the team about their project and about why controlling invasive species is important for ecosystem health.
