Jessika McKaskle is on the podcast this week, and it is such a gift! If you don’t know Jessika, she is open and honest and keeps things real. Today was no different as she shares with us her battle with control, self-sufficiency, and perfectionism. Hearing her lay it all out so boldly is such a powerful reminder for us to search our hearts on where we may be holding these very same things. Growing up in the church and then becoming a pastor’s wife as well as a mother, Jessika’s story lays out such a clear picture of why we may be struggling with these very things and yet the beautiful, amazing truth of God’s grace that we can choose to live in.
You will hear us talk about how these things pertain to marriage, but because we ended up with basically two distinct and powerful messages, we’ve chosen to share her story in Part 1 and Part 2. This week will camp on Jessika’s background with these topics as we went into marriage, ministry, and motherhood, but next week we will dive deeper into how she and Jordy learned to uproot some of these patterns within their marriage. I can’t wait to share it with you!
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We also want to share our three amazing partners for this week’s episode: Daily Press, Brandy Bostick, author of Kip the Brave Little Turtle, and Northeast Imaging.
Stop by Daily Press during this busy holiday season whether it’s for breakfast, lunch, dinner, a cup of coffee, or even a frozen meal for the craziest days.
