If you thought the Phillies and Kyle Schwarber would sign a multiyear contract shortly after free agency started, think again.

We still think Schwarber will re-sign with the Phillies, but right now his agency is trying to maximize his value -- as they should. That means drawn-out negotiations, and maybe even a little frustration on the Phillies’ end. It’s rally no surprise. Schwarber had a massive 2025, leading the NL in home runs and RBIs and finishing second for NL MVP. He needs to cash in on this deal. But again, we think the roads point to Schwarber’s return to Philly.
