Tesla unveils new safety data for its Full Self-Driving (FSD) software, boasting a significantly lower collision rate than the national average. The company reports that FSD users drive five million miles before a major collision and one point five million miles before a minor one. This comes after Waymos co-CEO, Tekedra Mawakana, emphasized the need for transparency in autonomous driving systems. Waymo claims its vehicles are five times safer than human drivers and twelve times safer for pedestrians. Teslas new safety reports focus on FSD, using federal motor vehicle safety standards to define collisions. The company plans to update this data quarterly.
