Steinberg has announced that its hardware products will be rebranded under the Yamaha banner.

Undertaken as part of a restructuring of both companies' product development systems, the rebrand will see Steinberg shifting its focus away from hardware and exclusively towards software development and sales.

A German manufacturer and software developer founded in 1984, Steinberg was acquired by Yamaha in 2004. Since then, the companies have jointly developed and released a number of products, including Steinberg-branded audio interfaces such as the IXO series, launched in 2024.

The IXO12, IXO22, UR22C, and UR44C audio interfaces have been relaunched under the Yamaha brand and all other Steinberg interfaces will be "gradually phased out"

Yamaha YCM705 large-diaphragm condenser microphone comes in white or black and retails for $349.99. It has a 1" diaphragm, cardioid polar pattern, a frequency response of 20Hz-20kHz, plus pad and low-cut switches. It ships with a pop filter, shockmount, stand adapter, and pouch.

Focusrite released the Scarlett 2i2 USB-C Audio Interface 4th Generation, 40th Anniversary Edition. It retails for $229.99 and is absolutely stunning. Housed in a limited-edition ISA-blue aluminum chassis, this anniversary model recalls the iconic channel strips that launched the Focusrite name. An embossed Focusrite Forte logo on the top and silkscreened artwork on the underside. An image of the device should appear on the screen now.

COMING SOON:

I’ll be reviewing Saramonic’s Blink500 ProX B8 4-person wireless lavalier mic set. It has a 4 XLR breakout cable that would pair perfectly with the PodTrack P4next. I also got my hands on Golden Age Audio’s FC1 MKIII condenser microphone.
