Showing Up With Used Beers
Manage episode 522418343 series 1310688
Another fun week on the beer podcast that brings you craft beer news, laughs, and fresh pours. Greg’s on a mission for two Celebration Ales and somehow ends up planning a Christmas party beer con. Flex schools him on Midwestern logic, Greg has some concert beers at an awful venue, and a midwestern mishap over some hot sauce. Also, we’ve got a double dose of drunk drivers with weapons in the same town, someone check on Maryland. And updates from Malibu Brewing and the ongoing "will Greg ever find that beer?" saga continues.
Beers We’re Drinking:
- Greg is drinking Grand Ole Hopry from Almanac Beer and Cellermaker Brewing, a hazy IPA with bright tropical fruit and a clean finish.
- Flex is drinking King Julius from Tree House Brewing Company, a double IPA loaded with orange creamsicle and mango.
It’s been too long, and Greg and Flex are catching up over a beer or two. The Celebration hunt turns into a Trader Joe’s conspiracy, and Flex helps him plan a stealth beer drop for an upcoming Christmas party. Greg’s concert recap turns into a full-on House of Blues takedown, complete with oversold crowds and overpriced VIP seats. Malibu Brewing finally gets the green light on their new spot, and Flex accidentally invents an Italian hot sauce while trying to speak Spanish, and who’s got some hops for sale?
Booze News:
- Rogue Brewing officially files for bankruptcy. They’ve also got a ton of beer and supplies hanging around.
- The Siebel School heads north to Montreal.
- Athletic Brewing is about to hit 500,000 barrels this year.
- Maryland is producing a lot of DUIs and weapons charges; what’s going on?
