Beauty, then, is not mere decoration, but rather an essential element of the liturgical action, since it is an attribute of God himself and his revelation. These considerations should make us realize the care which is needed, if the liturgical action is to reflect its innate splendour.

Pope Benedict XVI

Last week we got descriptions of what precede and what is before the throne including the descriptions of the four living creatures and how they never stop saying the glorious Trisaigon chorus. Holy Holy Holy is the Lord god almighty, who was and is and is to come. So today we wrap up Revelation 4 with verse 9-11

The Passage

And whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to him who is seated on the throne, who lives forever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before him who is seated on the throne and worship him who lives forever and ever. They cast their crowns before the throne, saying,

“Worthy are you, our Lord and God,

to receive glory and honor and power,

for you created all things,

and by your will they existed and were created.”

The List:

  1. The Four living creatures give God glory
  2. The four living creatures give God thanks
  3. He is seated on the throne
  4. He lives forever and ever
  5. The twenty-four elders fall down before him who’s on the throne
  6. The twenty-four elders worship him
  7. He lives forever and ever
  8. The twenty-four elders cast their crowns before him
  9. The twenty four elders say ““Worthy are you, our Lord and God,to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.”
  10. Jesus is worthy to receive Glory
  11. Jesus is worthy to receive honor
  12. Jesus is worthy to receive power
