“Calling All Queens: We’re Seeking Live Interviews with Women in the LGBTQ+ Community!”
Katz's life changed in an instant when she went to the emergency room, thinking she was dealing with a menopause issue. Instead, she was rushed to the ICU and told she had only 24 hours to live. Her family—her wife, kids, and grandkids—dropped everything to be by her side. Against all odds, Katz made it through those first 24 hours, and then past the 90 days doctors gave her without a heart transplant. It’s now been nine months, and she is still here, fighting every day for herself and her family.
Living with this heart condition means Katz takes 20 pills a day just to keep her heart pumping. She can’t run, exercise, or do anything strenuous. She also has severe epilepsy, which means she can’t drive and always needs someone with her. These challenges have made daily life difficult, but her determination to be here for her wife, kids, and grandkids keeps her going. She wants them to see her fight for life, no matter the obstacles.
Katz's dream is to secure a piece of land and build a tiny home where she can live safely and peacefully with her family. This would give her the stability and environment she needs to focus on her health and reduce stress, which is so important for her heart. The ongoing cost of her medications is overwhelming, and your support would help cover these expenses and make their dream a reality. Katz is deeply grateful for any help, and hopes to one day give back to the community that supports them now. Thank you for being part of their journey.
