Japji Sahib is a Sikh prayer, that appears at the beginning of the Guru Granth Sahib – the scripture of the Sikhs. It was composed by Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism.it is considered the comprehensive essence of Sikhism. Expansion and elaboration of Japji Sahib are the entire Guru Granth Sahib. Sri Nanak Prakash is a detailed historical account of the life of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. It was written by Mahakavi (great poet) Bhai Santokh Singh Ji in 1824 (AD), and represents one of the most comprehensive and beautifully written accounts of Guru Ji’s life. Jaap Sahib is the morning prayer. The prayer was composed by the tenth Sikh Master, Guru Gobind Singh, and is found at the start of the Sikh scripture Dasam Granth. This Bani is an important Sikh prayer and is recited by the Panj Pyare while preparing Amrit on the occasion of Amrit Sanchar (initiation), a ceremony held to admit initiates into the Khalsa and it is a part of a Sikh's Nitnem (daily mediations).
