show episodes

This show is inspired by the writings of H.P. Lovecraft and his Cthulhu Mythos. You will hear readings of his works, and horror or ghost stories by other authors. The Lovecraft "period" is primarily the 1920's and you will also hear history and music from that period. The aim is to provide anything appropriate to that time frame. However anything "Lovecraft" like or spooky is likely to appear on this show. You are invited to contribute your stories!

A Call of Cthulhu actual play podcast. Dice-driven cosmic horrors supplied by Dominic Allen, Joseph Chance, Danann McAleer and guests. --- The Apocalypse Players is an actual play (or live play) TTRPG podcast focused on horror tabletop roleplaying games. Think Dimension 20 or Critical Role, but fewer dragons, more eldritch horrors, and more British actors taking their roleplaying very seriously (most of the time). We primarily play the Chaosium RPG Call of Cthulhu, but have also been known t ...

Cosmic horror meets philosophy and spirituality in the teachings of a very tidy Great Old One. From the depths beyond light, Tidy Cthulhu speaks. Each week, these sermons blend cosmic truths, speculative philosophy, and the wisdom of the Great Old Ones to reveal humanity’s true place in the vast, uncaring universe. Whether contemplating the insignificance of our existence, the ancient currents of forgotten gods, or the small acts of order we can bring to the chaos, each episode is both a med ...

Lore, mythology, and history summaries in easy to understand and easy to digest formats. The series aren't totally comprehensive, but they provide a great springboard for someone just dipping their toes into a new franchise or topic. So far, I've covered the Cthulhu Mythos, Middle-earth, Star Wars, The Elder Scrolls, Norse Mythology, Celtic Mythology, the SCP Universe, and Warhammer 40k, but I hope to continue doing this for many years.
